This video was very powerful and I think that hearing and seeing someone speak is more powerful than reading the words. It also shocked me to see how young this student was and that he was so depressed at the age of 9 that he thought suicide was the only answer. I wonder if the more people talk about these issues the less shocking it becomes and eventually we can have less emotional conversations in school about the gay perspective etc. I also wonder what support groups are availible for parents and if they are open to parents with young children so that children can feel safe and understood from an early age. Maybe the answer is to start talking about these issues in Kindergarten so that they are not so emotionally charged and the topic is not new.

I thought that this was very powerful and courageous act. It is amazing that this child was able to do this at a young age
